The office of Minister of Labor in the caretaker government, Mustafa Beram, denied the circulating claims regarding a statement attributed to the minister following the meeting of the ministerial committee to discuss public facility emergencies yesterday. It was alleged that the minister indicated "the adoption of a new salary for the public sector at double the salary amount."
The statement clarified that "this is not correct, as the minister did not say that. He was responding to a journalist's question, affirming that there are proposals for salary increases in the sector overall, but he did not specify the percentage of the increase, awaiting the decision of the Cabinet. When asked if the increase exceeds double the salary, he responded: yes, which does not mean that the increase is only double the salary as circulated; it is definitely more, and it is the Cabinet that will decide in the end."
