Foreign Minister and caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib welcomed any "Syrian visit to Lebanon," stating that "we visited Syria after the earthquake that struck it, and we met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad." In an interview with Al-Jadeed channel, he pointed out that "Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of the Arab League will invite Assad to attend the Arab summit in Jeddah," revealing that "it is possible for caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati to meet with Assad at the summit." He added that "the Arab openness towards Syria is a result of the Beijing Agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and progress in the negotiations between Yemenis with Saudi assistance." Bou Habib also noted that "there is a trend to withdraw the legal case filed in Lebanon against the Algerian company Sonatrach."
