American officials announced that one more American soldier was injured yesterday, Friday, in the latest exchange of attacks between Iranian-backed forces and U.S. troops in Syria. This brings the total number of American soldiers injured in attacks on U.S. forces in Syria to six, in addition to the death of an American contractor.
U.S. President Joe Biden warned Iran that the United States would take strong action to protect Americans after the U.S. military conducted airstrikes against Iranian-backed forces in response to an attack that resulted in the death of an American contractor and injuries to five American soldiers. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the number of fatalities among Iranian-backed factions has risen to 19 militants.
