Earthquake of Magnitude 5.1 Strikes Southern California

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck southern California, north of Los Angeles, on Sunday, shaking much of the area as residents prepared for the arrival of Tropical Storm Hilary. There have been no reports of damage or injuries so far. The earthquake occurred approximately seven kilometers northeast of Ojai, California, and was followed by several aftershocks of lesser intensity. The U.S. tsunami warning center announced that no tsunami warning was issued as a result of the earthquake.
