A drone of unknown identity crashed onto the grounds of Belgorod airport in Russia, located about 40 km from the Ukrainian border, according to a source in emergency services on Tuesday. The source noted that the drone fell on Monday afternoon, causing minor damage to the airport's fence, but no injuries were reported. Security authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
It is noteworthy that Belgorod airport has been closed since the start of the special military operation on February 24, 2022, under a flight restriction regime in southern Russia and some central regions, and Belgorod province has been subjected to repeated shelling from Ukraine.
