Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen held a meeting with senior security officials on the island to discuss the regional situation ahead of her meeting with U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in California. The Presidential Office in Taiwan revealed that "Tsai held the meeting via video link from Belize and listened to a summary of the overall regional situation." Among the officials participating in the call were National Security Council Secretary-General Wellington Koo, Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, and Director-General of the National Security Bureau Tsai Ming-yen. Tsai arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening and is scheduled to return to Taipei next Friday. Upon her arrival in Los Angeles, Tsai wrote on her Facebook page that her team would hold several meetings to continue the fight for Taiwan's diplomacy.
