Jean Aboud, the head of the Travel and Tourism Offices Syndicate, confirmed in a statement today, Thursday, that "August represented a peak month for tourism, with a significant increase in tourism activity compared to August 2022." He stated, "Despite some security incidents and political shocks that occurred, the movement remained at its peak and momentum," reassuring that the tourism activity will continue with the same momentum in the second half of August. He predicted that the total number of arrivals at Beirut Airport in August would be between 630,000 and 650,000 passengers, noting that "between 35 percent and 38 percent of the arrivals are from Arab and foreign tourists."
