German Chancellor Olaf Scholz indicated today that "the U.S. proposal to provide security guarantees to Ukraine similar to those given to Israel is one of several options being explored." He added that discussions on this matter have not yet come close to conclusion. U.S. President Joe Biden stated on CNN yesterday that "Washington is prepared to provide security for Ukraine similar to what is offered to Israel, including the weapons they need and the ability to defend themselves."
