Residents of Kfar Shuba in Southern Lebanon managed to cross the border fence and raise the Lebanese flag opposite the Samqa site amidst a state of alert by the Israeli army, which was conducting land leveling operations. Farmer Ismail Nasser from Kfar Shuba succeeded in crossing the fence and confronting the bulldozers, preventing them from advancing. Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri called him to greet him on his heroic stand in defense of his land, affirming that "a people with such strong determination must be victorious, and the occupation will come to an end."
