Nikkei Closes Up Amid Optimism in the Chip Manufacturing Sector

The Japanese Nikkei index closed down for the fourth consecutive session today, Tuesday, amid optimism regarding growth investments in the semiconductor industry in the country. Advantest Corp's stock surged by 2.38%, bringing its gains over the past four days to 29%, amid expectations that the chip testing equipment manufacturer will lead an artificial intelligence boom. Meanwhile, Japan Airlines' stock dropped by 0.71%, leading to a decrease in airline stocks, following rising oil prices. The Nikkei index recovered from early losses to close up by 0.3%.
