Erdogan and Scholz Discuss Sweden's NATO Membership Bid

The Turkish presidential communications office indicated today, Wednesday, that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during which they discussed developments in Russia and Sweden's bid to join NATO. The communications office mentioned that they agreed to enhance cooperation regarding regional and global challenges. Erdogan stated, "Stockholm has taken steps in the right direction," referring to anti-terrorism legislation. He added, "Supporters of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party in Sweden continue to organize demonstrations and finance terrorist groups, which is unacceptable for Ankara."
