Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Maqdad expressed Syria's appreciation for the decision of Tunisian President Kais Saied to elevate the diplomatic representation of the Tunisian embassy in Damascus to the level of ambassador during a phone call with his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar. This move reaffirms the mutual goodwill between the leaderships and peoples of the brotherly countries, Syria and Tunisia. Al-Maqdad indicated that Syria would soon reopen its embassy in Tunisia, ensuring diplomatic representation at the ambassadorial level. For his part, Ammar conveyed the Tunisian leadership's decision to enhance the representation of the Tunisian embassy in Damascus and appoint an ambassador to head it. The two ministers exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Ramadan and discussed the importance of reinforcing relations between the two brotherly countries in diplomatic, political, economic, and cultural fields, as well as the significance of continued consultations regarding Arab, regional, and international issues.
