Real Madrid, the giant of La Liga, announced the extension of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric's contract for an additional season, until June 30, 2024. Modric has been with Real since 2012 and has played 488 matches for the club, winning 23 titles, including five UEFA Champions League trophies and three domestic league titles. The decision to retain the 37-year-old player comes less than a week after the announcement of his teammate Toni Kroos's contract extension for another season as well.
