Goldman Sachs Lowers Expectations for U.S. Economic Recession

Goldman Sachs Chief Economist Jan Hatzius noted today, Monday, that the bank has reduced its expectations regarding the U.S. economy slipping into a recession over the next twelve months to 20 percent from 25 percent. Hatzius added in a research note, "The main reason for the downgrade is that recent data has bolstered our confidence that a decline in inflation to an acceptable level may help avoid a recession."
