Syrian President Bashar al-Assad asserted on Saturday that "the opportunity is now ripe for parties and political forces to take action due to the existence of real models. The on-ground operations have proven the success of besieged peoples in resisting their sieges, contrary to the idea of defeat and concession that hostile media have strived to instill in the hearts of our Arab society."
During the Arab Parties Conference, he discussed "the importance of working on a common identity for Arabs, emphasizing that without it, progress will not be achieved on any cultural, economic, or other levels."
Assad stressed the "necessity of ending the occupation of all Syrian territories and lifting the unjust siege and coercive sanctions imposed on the people, as they represent unlawful measures that contradict international law, serving as clear evidence of American arrogance and hubris." He considered that "lifting the siege is a national duty and an urgent humanitarian need, especially after the earthquake disaster that the Syrian people are currently facing."
It is noteworthy that he met with the members of the conference's general secretariat during its 62nd emergency session under the title "Yes to the Unity of Syria and its Sovereignty and National Project, No to the Siege and Aggression Against Syria."
