Chinese President Calls for Deepening Cooperation with Brazil

Official media reported on Friday that Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China and Brazil should deepen practical cooperation and leverage capabilities to work together in sectors including agriculture, energy, and infrastructure development. Chinese Central Television (CCTV) quoted Xi saying that Beijing prioritizes its diplomatic relations with Brazil during a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is visiting China. The television also noted that the two leaders discussed the Ukraine crisis and agreed that dialogue and negotiations are the only successful way to resolve the crisis. Lula arrived in Shanghai on Wednesday for an official visit to China. Before his meeting with Xi, the Brazilian President said, "We have an exceptional relationship with China, a relationship that grows stronger every day." He added that "Brazil and China need to work together so that the relationship is not limited to economic interests only."
