Saudi Arabia Announces

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the kingdom will co-chair a high-level conference to announce pledges to support the humanitarian response for Sudan and the region on June 19, 2023. Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that since the beginning of the crisis in Sudan, the kingdom has been present to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people through humanitarian aid, the evacuation of those affected, and facilitating political talks in Jeddah, among other initiatives. The "Donor Conference for Sudan and the Region" will take place on June 19, alongside Qatar, Egypt, Germany, the United Nations represented by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the European Union, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Bin Farhan expressed hope that this humanitarian tragedy would come to an end soon and called for wide participation from donor countries to help mitigate the impact of this crisis, reaffirming Saudi Arabia's commitment to alleviating the suffering of Sudanese people.
