Many women opt for ready-made flavored drinks during the month of Ramadan, which are widely available in various flavors and at low prices, but doctors warn against consuming them. A report from the medical magazine Answeer states that these flavored drinks may contain numerous types of different synthetic chemicals that can interfere with the normal functioning of the body, making them selective for individuals with good health versus those with poor health due to differences in metabolism, enzymes, and hormones. Additionally, they contain sweetening agents, which can lead to tooth decay and bone deformities. As a result, the consumption of flavored drinks is less harmful for adults than for children, as their body parts have developed well, but this does not mean they are unaffected.

On another note, the International Journal of Food Technology and Science published a study indicating that hibiscus flower extract aids in losing excess weight by reducing fat. Researchers at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) followed previous studies on the subject and extracted antioxidant compounds known as "phenols" and "hydroxycitric acid" from hibiscus flowers.
