Title: Eight Miners Killed Due to Asphyxiation in Eastern Sudan Mine

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company reported in a statement today, Sunday, that "eight miners died as a result of asphyxiation in a mine in eastern Sudan due to a loss of oxygen after a well-burning operation." The company's statement noted that "authorities have evacuated the bodies of the eight workers from the mine and transported them to a hospital." The company had stated on March 31 that "14 miners had died and more than 20 were injured following a mine collapse in the Northern State."
