A NATO official announced that the alliance's air police units have raised their state of alert following a near collision last Friday between a Russian fighter jet and a Polish aircraft that was on patrol for the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), over the Black Sea near Romania. The official stated today, Monday, that the alliance is "vigilant" and referred other questions to the Polish authorities.
