European stocks rose on Monday as markets calmed after a week of turmoil sparked by worries over the stability of the banking sector, following the collapse of Credit Suisse and two mid-sized American banks. The Stoxx 600 index increased by 1.1%, while European bank stocks gained 1.4%, with Deutsche Bank's shares advancing by 6.2%. Shares of Swiss bank UBS, which acquired Credit Suisse in a rescue deal last week, also rose by 1.1%.
