Avoiding Rejection of Health Approvals: Statement from the Hospitals Syndicate

The Syndicate of Hospital Owners in Lebanon announced in a statement that "the National Social Security Fund has stopped paying monthly installments to hospitals as advances for their dues since the beginning of this year, with no alternative payment mechanism currently in place, due to the absence of a decision from the Board of Directors of the Fund." It noted that "this situation creates financial pressure that hospitals cannot bear, and if it continues, hospitals will find themselves forced to reject health approvals issued by the Social Security Fund and will request patients to pay the full hospital bill before their discharge." The statement concluded: "The Syndicate urges the Board of Directors of the Fund to meet without further delay and make a decision to renew the monthly advance payments to avoid measures that may increase the suffering of those covered by the Fund."
