The head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andrei Yermak, announced today, Saturday, that "Germany will provide a new military aid package worth 2.7 billion euros (2.97 billion dollars) to Ukraine, which includes 30 Leopard tanks." He clarified, in a Telegram post, that "Berlin will also supply four Iris-T air defense systems, 20 Marder armored personnel carriers, 200 reconnaissance drones, 100 armored vehicles, and a large amount of ammunition."
For his part, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed today that "Berlin has been and will continue to be serious about supporting Kyiv in the aftermath of the Russian attack." He expressed in a statement his hope that "the horrific illegal war will end quickly," adding: "Unfortunately, this is not expected anytime soon, so Germany will provide any possible assistance no matter how long it takes."
