Supreme Court of Pakistan Orders Release of Imran Khan

Dunya TV reported that the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday. Khan stated before the court that he had been "kidnapped from the Islamabad court and was subjected to beatings." The Chief Justice of Pakistan remarked to Imran Khan, "Your arrest ignited a fire in Pakistan, and we care about keeping Pakistan safe." Earlier today, Pakistani authorities arrested Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who served as Foreign Minister in Khan's government. Khan's arrest by the anti-corruption unit triggered violent protests across the country, leading the government to call on the military to help restore order.
