Chevron: Richmond Voyager Was Not Involved in Gulf Collision

Chevron, the American oil giant, confirmed to Reuters on Friday that the ship Richmond Voyager, flying the Bahamas flag, was not involved in any collision in the Gulf, after Iran stated that it had a court order to seize the ship. A spokesperson for the company said, "Chevron has not received any notification of legal action or court order or anything else from Iran." He added, "Furthermore, contrary to some sources, the Richmond Voyager was not involved in any collision in the Gulf." The U.S. Navy stated that Iranian naval forces fired multiple rounds at the Richmond Voyager, but the ship did not sustain significant damage, and the sailors on board were not injured. State media reported the existence of a court order to detain the tanker after it collided with an Iranian vessel.
