Italy Rescues 32 Migrants from Abandoned Island in the Mediterranean

The Italian coast guard had to use a helicopter today, Monday, to rescue 32 migrants, including a child, from an abandoned island in the Mediterranean to the island of Lampedusa. The coast guard stated, "Rescuing the migrants from Lampedion by sea was impossible due to bad weather conditions." Italian news agency ANSA reported that the rescued migrants are from Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Mali.
