U.S. Navy Plane Crosses Taiwan Strait

The U.S. Navy’s Seventh Fleet reported that a P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft "crossed the strait in international airspace," two days after Chinese military exercises south of the island. The Chinese military described the flight as a "public disturbance," adding that it dispatched fighter jets to monitor and warn the U.S. aircraft. Taiwan's Ministry of Defense confirmed that the "U.S. plane adhered to flying over the median line of the strait and flew south this Thursday morning, with Taiwanese forces monitoring it."
