Berri Calls for a Session on June 14 to Elect a President

The Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, has called for a session on June 14 at 11:00 AM to elect a President for the Republic. Berri discussed the general situation, the latest political developments, and legislative matters during his meeting with Deputy Ahmad Al-Khair at the second presidential palace in Ain Al-Tineh. He also addressed educational matters during a meeting with Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Halabi, who confirmed after the meeting that "the exams will take place as scheduled." Al-Halabi stated: "The meeting was very beneficial, and we presented the Ministry of Education's plan to introduce reforms in teaching and learning as a result of the crisis we experienced this year, which compels us to think carefully about how to tackle the upcoming academic year, introduce governance into the Lebanese educational system, and secure funding. This meeting will be held under the auspices of the Prime Minister on June 8 with the presence of all ambassadors and donors who can collaborate with the Ministry of Education to ensure the smooth running of the next academic year."
