The Nasdaq index, dominated by technology stocks, rose at the open on Monday, continuing its gains from the first half of the year, boosted by a surge in Tesla shares, which announced a record number of vehicle deliveries in the second quarter. However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 73.82 points or 0.11 percent to 34,369.78 points. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.10 points to 4,450.48 points, while the Nasdaq composite gained 10.78 points or 0.08 percent to 13,798.70 points.
