Astra Tech, a technology services company, announced the signing of an agreement with Etihad Airways that allows customers of the Abu Dhabi government-owned airline to book flights using artificial intelligence through the Botim chat app. In a statement, it was mentioned that "this is the first pre-trained generative transformer that supports the Arabic language, and it is also available in English." Astra Tech added, "Through the GPT unit in the Botim app developed by Astra Tech, flights and other travel-related services have been integrated into the Botim app, providing customers with a convenient and innovative way to book Etihad Airways flights." The Botim app, known in the region for its internet calling capabilities, was relaunched on Monday. One of the services offered by the app is the pre-trained generative transformer feature, a type of artificial intelligence that gained significant popularity following the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT program in November. Under the agreement between Etihad and Astra Tech, airline customers will be able to book flights simply by entering the basic details of the service they need, after which the app will automatically complete the booking.
