"Deadly Disease" Destroys Human Brains!

South Korea announced its first case of "brain-eating amoeba" or "Naegleria fowleri." The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency reported that a South Korean man died after returning from Thailand, having contracted Naegleria fowleri, which destroys human brains. The agency noted that the chances of the disease transmitting from person to person are low, according to the South Korean news agency "Yonhap." The man, in his fifties, returned to South Korea on December 10 after a four-month stay in Thailand, was hospitalized the following day, and died last Tuesday. Naegleria fowleri is an amoeba commonly found in warm freshwater lakes, rivers, canals, and ponds around the world.
