Incident in Al-Khayarah Village - Western Bekaa and Military Intervention

The Army Command - Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement: "On August 16, 2023, during the intervention of a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence supported by a military unit to address an incident in Al-Khayarah - Western Bekaa, they came under gunfire. The elements returned fire, resulting in two fatalities and several injuries among the shooters. Ten citizens were arrested for their involvement in the incident and for shooting at the army personnel. An investigation has been initiated with the arrested individuals under the supervision of the competent judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects."
