Taimour Jumblatt: Real Dialogue is the Only Way to Reach Internal Consensus

The head of the Democratic Gathering, Deputy Taimour Jumblatt, stated that "regardless of the outcomes from the last session, and away from analyses, proposals, and external expectations, electing a consensual president for the republic remains an absolute priority. This is to end the prolonged deadlock of this crisis and the political and institutional vacuum that prevents finding the necessary horizons to overcome the current social and economic challenges." He reiterated in a statement made during Saturday's receptions at the Mukhtara Palace that "real dialogue is the only way to achieve an internal consensus that lays the foundation for a reform path leading to general stability, and launching a sustainable recovery and development process." Jumblatt considered that "it is unjustifiable to waste time on proposals that divert attention from the urgent need to halt the erosion of institutions and address the living, health, and humanitarian crises facing the nation and its people."
