Saudi authorities have announced a number of mandatory requirements for travelers wishing to enter Qatar through the Salwa border crossing between the two countries. The unified communication platform, "Hadrin," designed to ensure a smooth journey for those wishing to attend the 2022 World Cup matches from inside Saudi Arabia, provided clarifications on its Twitter page, stating that those who do not meet the necessary requirements for entry into Qatar will be turned back.
According to "Hadrin," obtaining a "Hayya" card is required for entry into Qatar if the resident's profession is "not approved" by Qatari authorities. For residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the profession of those wishing to enter Qatar without a "Hayya" card must be among those approved by the Qatari Ministry of Interior.
Additionally, those wishing to enter Qatar in their private vehicles must "obtain a confirmed entry permit for the vehicle." If one arrives at the Salwa border crossing without a permit or with an unconfirmed permit, the "vehicle will be turned back."
