# Turks Abroad Start Voting in Presidential Election Runoff

Turks living abroad began voting today, Saturday, in the presidential election runoff between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his opponent Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The Anadolu Agency reported that "voting has started in countries across Asia and Europe, and that Germany has the largest Turkish community in the world, with about 1.5 million eligible voters." Approximately 3.4 million Turks are eligible to vote abroad, out of more than 64 million Turkish voters in total, and voting for overseas voters will continue from May 20 to May 24. The runoff elections in Turkey will take place on May 28, following Erdoğan's advancement without surpassing 50% of the votes to win in the first round of the presidential elections last Sunday.
