According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), six workers died as a result of an explosion at a mine in the city of Damghan, Semnan Province, in northern Iran. The official agency reported that rescue teams retrieved the bodies of the six workers after they were trapped inside the mine following the explosion, which was attributed to gas accumulation. The agency quoted Kamel Taherian, the director-general of crisis management in Semnan Province, stating that the explosion occurred at a depth of 400 meters underground.
