The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced today, Monday, that it has received four bids to host the 2027 Women's World Cup, with the host country to be selected during the General Assembly meeting in May of next year. Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands have submitted a joint bid to host the tournament, while another joint bid includes the United States and Mexico. Brazil and South Africa have also expressed interest in hosting. FIFA stated that all countries wishing to host have until May 19 to confirm their intentions. FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said, "We are thrilled by the willingness shown by these countries to host, especially since they come from federations with a strong tradition in football and represent four continental federations." Australia and New Zealand will host the 2023 Women's World Cup, which kicks off on July 20.
