Collapse of Sports Stand Results in Injuries Among Fans

The Egyptian Ministry of Health has confirmed that the preliminary assessment of the incident involving the collapse of a sports stand at the Dr. Hassan Mustafa Hall in Sixth of October City during the Super Basketball match between Al Ahly and Al-Ittihad indicates 27 injuries among the audience. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated via the ministry's official Facebook page that the preliminary report lists 27 citizens with injuries, including fractures and bleeding, most of which are not life-threatening. He added that 18 of the injured were transported to 6 October Central Hospital, while 9 injured individuals were taken to Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital. He further explained that 21 ambulances were dispatched to the site of the sports stand collapse on Saturday evening.
