Two Dead and Nine Injured in Quebec, Canada

Canadian police announced that two people were killed and nine others injured after a van struck them on Monday in the town of Amqui, Quebec. Police spokesperson Hélène San Pierre stated that "the investigation is still ongoing regarding the circumstances of the incident.” She indicated that "two individuals died, one in his eighties and the other in his seventies, and two others sustained serious injuries." The channel (CTV News) reported that "the driver of the vehicle was arrested after fleeing the scene." The police received a call around 3 PM local time after the vehicle hit pedestrians while they were walking along the road in Amqui, located about 650 kilometers northeast of Montreal. This incident comes a month after a bus driver was charged with murder after crashing his bus into a daycare in a suburb of Montreal, resulting in the deaths of two children.
