According to the "Al-Ikhbariya" channel, Saudi astronauts Ali Al-Qarni and Rayana Barnawi have departed the International Space Station aboard the "Dragon" spacecraft, returning to Earth today after achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's scientific mission. This mission aims to contribute to scientific research that serves humanity, capitalize on the promising opportunities provided by the global space sector and its industries, and build national capabilities in human spaceflight, along with the AX-2 mission crew, which also includes astronauts Peggy Whitson and John Shoffner.
The Saudi Space Authority announced today the successful separation of the spacecraft carrying the Saudi astronauts from the International Space Station at 17:50 local time, heading towards Earth for a landing in the Atlantic Ocean tomorrow, Wednesday, at 5 AM.
