The Mexican Football Federation announced today, Monday, that Diego Coca, coach of the national team, has left his position. National teams director Rodrigo Ares de Parga also departed less than a week before the start of the Gold Cup of the North, Central America, and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF). This announcement comes a day after Mexico's victory over Panama, securing bronze in the CONCACAF Nations League, and following a semifinal loss to the United States, which won the title. The Mexican Federation indicated that Jaime Lozano, who led the Under-23 team to a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, will take charge temporarily. The federation stated in a release, "We thank Rodrigo and Coca for their work and dedication during this period, and we wish them the best in the future."
