Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chose to conclude his campaign on the eve of the elections with a visit to the Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul. Opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (Anıtkabir) in the capital Ankara. In both visits, before the start of the election silence, there was a clear indication of the direction Turkey might take depending on which side wins. The third candidate, Sinan Oğan, opted to meet with voters in Ankara. Erdoğan stated that he would accept the results of the presidential election scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, affirming that he would peacefully transfer power if he loses. About 61 million voters in the country are participating in Sunday’s elections, which feature three presidential candidates and three party alliances. Additionally, 24 parties and 191 independents are competing for parliamentary seats, with approximately 191,736 ballot boxes distributed nationwide.
