U.S. climate envoy John Kerry noted on Wednesday that "more work is needed to reach agreements with China on key issues." Kerry, who had three days of talks in Beijing, stated that both sides intend to work "intensively" in the coming weeks as they prepare for the crucial COP28 climate summit in Dubai. He added, "This is not a one-time meeting," pointing out that moving away from coal and reducing other emissions besides carbon dioxide, such as methane, played a significant role in the discussions. He said, "We have already set a date for our next meeting and even for the one after that, and we recognize that we have about four months left before the COP conference."
