Al-Hikma Club Calls on Media Institutions to

The Al-Hikma Sports Club - Beirut condemned the assault on the media (the fourth estate) and stated in a press release: "We have great respect and appreciation for the Lebanese press, which has been the voice of truth and the maker of reality, especially when journalism, particularly sports journalism, was a science, a school, and the voice of the people and athletes."

The club added: "After some sports journalism has turned into gossip and personal interests and some have intervened in matters that do not concern them, launching insults against people and issuing threats and exaggerated claims under the pretext of holding a press card, this is a calamity for Lebanese journalism, before being a calamity for us and for the country."

Al-Hikma Club reiterated its "great respect for the Lebanese press and media institutions, but at the same time, from a position of concern for the journalism of Ghassan Tueni, Salim Louzi, Nasif Majdalani, and the greats in the profession of hard work, requests these institutions to cleanse themselves or at least prevent their employees from becoming parties or intervening in matters that do not concern them or their profession."
