France Renewed Warning of Sanctions on Lebanon

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today, Tuesday, that it is discussing with allies whether it is time to impose sanctions on those obstructing efforts to resolve the constitutional deadlock in Lebanon. The foreign ministry's statement added, "Lebanon has been without a president since the end of former President Michel Aoun's term at the end of October, which has exacerbated the dysfunction of institutions in a country where the economic crisis has worsened."
