Preliminary data from the Korean Customs Service revealed today (Tuesday in Korea) that South Korea did not import Iranian crude oil in July, marking a year without such imports. Additionally, it was noted that "Seoul, the fifth-largest crude oil buyer in the world, imported a total of 10.5 million tons of crude last month, compared to 13.2 million tons imported in the same month last year." The Korea National Oil Corporation, which is state-run, will release the final data on South Korea's crude oil imports for last month later this month. The company's data is considered the industry standard for South Korean oil imports.
