The "Green Southerners" Association wrote in a tweet on their Twitter account: "To the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Environment. Illegal dredging and leveling work continues on property 92 (private) of the Iskandaroun-Naquora beach in Tyre, which is classified as a natural site within the comprehensive land arrangement plan (N3) and contrary to the provisions of the Environmental Protection Law and the decree on environmental impact assessment procedures. This has led to the destruction of areas of rocky platforms within the property and its surroundings."
The association also mentioned the "change and distortion of the site's features that include a natural bay on one of Lebanon's most important beaches, which has distinguished environmental advantages." They added: "The association has sent a letter regarding this matter to Minister of Public Works Ali Hamie, urging him to intervene to stop the works immediately."
