Official media in Nicaragua announced that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in the country on Tuesday, marking the second stop in his tour of three countries in Latin America. He was received at the airport by Nicaragua's Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada.
Raisi began his tour with a visit to Venezuela, where he pledged to increase trade exchange from three billion to 20 billion dollars, within an unspecified timeframe.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in the petrochemical sector, aiming to implement joint projects leveraging their collaboration in the oil sector.
He is scheduled to head to Cuba later.
