Member of the Democratic Gathering bloc, MP Wael Abu Faour, emphasized during his participation in the session of the Defense and Municipalities Parliamentary Committee that "municipal and elective elections are a right enshrined for the Lebanese citizen that should not be denied." He pointed out that "a significant portion of previous municipalities has dissolved or collapsed, which negatively affects the remaining public service system." He called for "a clear recommendation from the Defense and Municipalities Committee on the necessity of proceeding with municipal and elective elections, and I urge the Cabinet to take the necessary legal, logistical, and administrative measures to ensure the conduct of the elections." Abu Faour added, "All these measures should involve sessions of the Cabinet or the Parliament, away from any disruption of institutions."
