Official media reported today, Friday, that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck southern Iran, injuring at least seven people. The media stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers near Shiraz. Iran is located above major geological fault lines and has experienced several devastating earthquakes in recent years.
